SALANOVA®  BRANDING PRINCIPLES
(for whole head)
 
 
 1.

These branding principles apply when Salanova® varieties of Rijk Zwaan are used and the product is sold as whole head.

 

2.

Salanova® is a registered trademark of Rijk Zwaan Zaadteelt en Zaadhandel B.V., The Netherlands.

 
 3.

Salanova® whole head should be packed (plastic bag/flow-pack) when it is sold to end consumer.

 
 4.

The Salanova® brand shall be printed on the packaging. Products sold under the Salanova® brand should be derived from varieties of Rijk Zwaan, or of varieties permitted by Rijk Zwaan, and indicated by Rijk Zwaan as Salanova® varieties. The Salanova® brand should also be used when more whole heads are sold in one packaging and at least one whole head is derived from a Salanova® variety.

 5.

The website www.salanova.com shall be mentioned on the packaging.

 6.

Other brands of, for instance, producers and/or private labels may be used on the packaging as well. Co-branding is therefore possible.

 7.

In all commercial communications whenever the name Salanova® is used, for example but not limited to, on packaging such as sleeve, bag or cover sheet and on websites, Salanova® shall be written with a capital letter and followed by the sign which indicates registered trademarks, namely ® (Salanova®).

 8.

Further in all commercial communications, including packaging, Salanova® shall not be used as a generic type indication, but should always be combined with the generic name ‘lettuce’ or combined with a generic name for lettuce. For example: Salanova® lettuce; Salanova® multi-leaf lettuce; Salanova®  butterhead green.

 9.

When selling the Salanova® (half)product, others in the chain must be aware of and observe these branding principles.

SALANOVA®  BRANDING PRINCIPLES
(for processed product)
 
1. 

These branding principles apply when Salanova® varieties of Rijk Zwaan are used and the product is sold processed, also called pre-cut.

 2.

Salanova® is a registered trademark of Rijk Zwaan Zaadteelt en Zaadhandel B.V., The Netherlands.

 3.

In the ingredient list, Salanova® shall be mentioned followed by a generic type indication. For example: Salanova®lettuce; Salanova® multi-leaf lettuce; Salanova® butterhead green.

 4.

If at least 66% of the product included in a packaging is derived from varieties of Rijk Zwaan, or of varieties permitted by Rijk Zwaan, and indicated by Rijk Zwaan as Salanova® varieties, then the ‘Salanova® Inside’ brand and the website www.salanova.com may be printed on the packaging.

 5.

Other brands of, for instance, producers and/or private labels may be used on the packaging as well. Co-branding is therefore possible.
